Former Detroit Red Wing Scores Olympics Coaching Position
One of our own is heading to the Olympics, as former Detroit Red Wings Hall of Fame player Sergei Fedorov has been tapped to serve on the coaching staff for the Russian Hockey Team at the 2022 Beijing Olympics.
Fedorov, along with Sergei Gonchar and Alexei Kudashov, will be an assistant coach at the games. Alexei Zchamnov will be the head coach. The Russian Hockey Federation announced the news today (Oct. 18).
Fedorov was with the Red Wings from 1990 through 2003. Right now, he’s the head coach of CSKA Moscow in the KHL.
