Former Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford currently with the Los Angeles Rams, and after losing their third game of the season last Monday (Nov. 15) against the San Francisco 49ers, Stafford has gotten some heat.

One guy standing up for Stafford is Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers. As it turns out, Rodgers says he’s a longtime fan of Stafford and thinks he’s a fantastic player.

“Those are trash comments. I’m a huge Stafford fan and have been for a long time,” Rodgers said during his latest appearance on the Pat McAfee Show.

Rodgers added, “We played against him for so many years. He’s one of the most gifted throwers in football, definitely of my generation. I’m a fan. He’s a tough dude and has played through some crazy injuries. I’m a big fan and he’s having a really nice season.”
