Report: Michigan State and Gonzaga to Possibly Play Basketball Game on Aircraft Carrier
According to FanDuel’s Jon Rothstein, the Michigan State and Gonzaga men’s basketball programs are in “advanced discussions” to play a neutral site game on – get this – an aircraft carrier in San Diego, California. How amazing is that? If it goes through, the event would happen on Veterans Day, which is Friday, Nov. 11.
According to Rothstein, “there is no timetable on an official announcement” right now. Rothstein adds that plans are moving ahead, although there are some major things that need to be worked out.
Previously, MSU played against the North Carolina Tar Heels on Nov. 11, 2011, in the Carrier Classic on the flight deck of the USS Carl Vinson. North Carolina won that game, towering over Michigan State 67-55.
