Sunday (Oct. 2), the Seattle Seahawks came into the Motor City to go up against the Detroit Lions at Ford Field. The Lions were favored to win this game by pretty much every NFL analyst, but they didn't.

The Lions trailed the whole game, but came within three points of winning towards the end. With just over two minutes left, the Seahawks scored another touchdown, and then we scored again. What a crazy few minutes. Final score was 48-45, with the Seahawks winning.

Larry Lage of the AP joins the WRIF's NFL podcast, "The Squad with Anne Erickson," this week, and he hits the nail on the head when it comes to the main problem with the Lions. He says the problem is with the team's defense. It's a big problem with no easy solution for this year. Do we already have to look ahead to next season? It's a possibility. Later in the show, Lage also gives his Super Bowl picks, which are very interesting. It's a great episode packed with Lions tidnits. "Detroit's dismal defense has been even worse than I think anyone expected," he says. "I think going into the season, I was like a lot of people in that I thought the Lions would be better offensively. Defensive would be the Achilles heel of this team, the weakness, and yet, it's been even worse than expected. Detroit has the highest scoring offense in the NFL and the worst defense in terms of points given up in yards and pretty much every other metric. When you score 45 points, you should win. And, as we all know, they did not... The combined points that Detroit has scored and given up has set an NFL record in four games."
