It's been about eight years since Calvin Johnson left the Detroit Lions, and now, he says his relationship with the Lions is “trending up.”

Johnson spoke with The New York Post on behalf of Primitiv Performance, a company that he co-owns that is introducing a line of CBD products in Michigan.

As the story goes, when he left, the Lions recouped $1.6 million of his signing bonus, and he expressed wanting them to pay him him back. When asked about it, he replied, “We’re trending up. We’re trying to come together and make something happen. Obviously I’d love to be around the team and do more things there and help the guys out. It’s good that we’re moving in the right direction.”

When asked about the money, he simply said, “Like I said, we’re in the process.”
