The Detroit Lions are big news right now, as they have pulled out some surprises during the NFL Draft.
Now, sources are reporting that the Lions are trading starting RB D'Andre Swift. Here's the scoop.
Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network broke the news on Twitter, stating, "The #Lions are trading starting RB D'Andre Swift, sources tell me and @TomPelissero, sending him to the #Eagles in exchange for draft pick compensation. With David Montgomery and now first-rounder Jahmyr Gibbs, Swift heads out."
What do you think of this move? It's not a total shock, but I personally wanted to see the Lions hold onto Swift. We had such great chemistry in our offense last season, and I don't want to see that disappear. But, the Eagles are a great team, so he'll soar there, if these reports are accurate.
The 2023 NFL Draft is here, and there are already surprises. Everyone is looking at the Detroit Lions this year, as the team is on target be one of the teams to beat going into the next season.
Detroit Lions were supposed to have two first-round picks: No. 6 from the Rams in the Matthew Stafford trade and also No. 18. But, on night one, the Cardinals traded up to No. 6 with the Lions.
Now, the Lions receive picks 12 and 34 from the Cardinals. They also have picks 48, 55, 81, 152, 159, 183 and 194.
For pick No. 12, the Lions went with Alabama RB Jahmry Gibbs. For pick No. 18, they went with University of Iowa Football LB Jack Campbell. Here's twitter reaction to those picks!
