The NFL season is getting closer and closer, and with it comes last-minute signings. It’s always interesting to see what kind of deals go down right at the end of the offseason, especially if those include former Michigan State or Michigan players.
If you’re a Michigan State University football fan, then you might recognize a new face on the Green Bay Packers team. Okay, I know what you’re thinking. The Packers? I don’t like to see a Spartan go to the rival team of the Lions, either, but it’s all good. I’m proud to see some Spartans make the jump to the NFL.
Former Michigan State Football Player to Green Bay:
Jayden Reed was picked by the Green Bay Packers with the 50th overall selection in the second round of this year’s 2023 NFL Draft. Reed marks the university’s second consecutive second round NFL draft pick, following Kenneth Walker a year ago.
Now, it’s all official. Going into his rookie season, Reed has signed his first NFL contract. Reed and the Packers came to terms on a four-year, $7.18 million deal with a $2.22 million signing bonus. The Green Bay Packers confirmed the news by #Packers sign second-round WR Jayden Reed ✅

It will be difficult to figure out which team to root for, since I’d like to support Reed, but I’ll have to go with the Lions.
