Some hotels stand out for their exceptional approach to food experiences at their hotel restaurant. From embracing local flavors to showcasing international cuisines, these hotels have become destinations not just for comfortable stays. For instance, Eleven Madison Park at New York City's NoMad Hotel and Raw at W Taipei in Taiwan both hold Michelin stars, awarded to restaurants offering outstanding cooking.

USA Today’s 10Best has compiled a collection of the best hotel restaurants across the United States. They had a group of experts put forward the nominees. Then, their editors narrowed it down to the final ones. From there, readers got to have their say and vote on the ultimate winners.

Michigan hotel restaurant ranks in top 5

While Mackinac Island has several restaurants to choose from, one hidden treasure stands out from the rest in this ranking. Tucked away within the Grand Hotel is Woods Restaurant, which secured the number 5 spot for best hotel restaurants in America. Located in a Tudor-style mansion, this restaurant serves Bavarian-inspired cuisine. Highlighting a top pick among diners, the elk chop has earned the title of guest favorite according to the ranking.

They also point out the chance for guests to take in the scenery with a horse-drawn carriage ride from the Grand Hotel to the Woods Restaurant, situated further inland.

The Grand Hotel's website mentions 13 different places to eat and drink, each offering something unique. Woods Restaurant matches exactly what USA Today was looking for in its ranking.

Memphis, Tennessee, takes the lead
