The Detroit Lions will face the Los Angeles Rams in the first playoff round at Ford Field on Sunday, January 14. It's the first-ever Lions playoff game to take place at home in three decades. And the team will be facing off against Matthew Stafford, their former quarterback. If the Lions win this Sunday, Shield's Restaurant Bar Pizzeria will be offering free pizza to dine-in customers.

Shield's has three locations, which include Detroit, Southfield, and Troy. Each of those locations will give away free pizzas from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, January 16, if the Detroit Lions take the win on Sunday. Shield's is at 5057 Woodward Ave., Detroit; 25101 Telegraph in Southfield and 1476 W. Maple, Troy.

How does it work?

Of course, there are some guidelines set in place for the promotion. According to Shield's, free pizza will only be available to dine-in guests only. Those who plan on dining in with a group note that groups of one or two customers will get one small pizza with one topping. Groups of three or more customers will get one large pizza with one topping. Of course, extra toppings will still be available at an additional cost.

The offer is only available for guests who don't have a reservation. The restaurant said that customers who made reservations beforehand will not be eligible to participate. And if you get a bit thirsty, while enjoying your pizza, just know that drinks aren’t included. The pizzeria is also encouraging customers to tip "based on the original cost of the pizza."

In 2021, the Detroit Lions had a rough season. At one point they went 0-5. Shield's did a similar promotion at this time as motivation. They gave away free squares on the house if the Lions won their first game of the season.

Here’s to hoping for a Detroit Lions victory.
