HopCat Location Coming To The Partridge Creek Mall
Beer and “Cosmik fries” are making their way to The Mall at Partridge Creek. HopCat will soon be opening its first location in the Clinton Township mall, becoming the first in Macomb County and tenth in the state.
The new restaurant will take over the spot of the former 7,000-square-foot BurgerFin. It’s expected to open in the early summer.
“After opening two locations in Metro Detroit last year, we’re thrilled to be joining the Macomb County community and increasing our brand presence in this thriving market,” said Ned Lidvall, CEO of BarFly. “It was easy to see the opportunity at The Mall at Partridge Creek — a vibrant and walkable destination. We’re confident about our decision to invest in this location as the home of our tenth Michigan HopCat restaurant.”
What to expect at the new HopCat location?
This HopCat location will accommodate 250 guests and feature a wrap-around bar, booth seating, a dog-friendly outdoor patio, a 4-season room, and a private event space for up to 50 people.
Additionally, the restaurant will begin its hiring in March. They’re looking to hire 125 employees.
According to the news release, Project BarFly, the West Michigan-based hospitality group, oversees operations of HopCat, Grand Rapids Brewing Company, and Stella’s Lounge.
HopCat currently has locations in Royal Oak, Livonia, Kalamazoo, Holland, Grand Rapids, Ann Arbor, East Lansing, and Detroit.
Its new location will be located at The Mall at Partridge Creek at 17380 Hall Road.
Last year in February, HopCat Royal Oak opened its doors for a grand opening party where 200 people lined up to get their chance to experience the location. There was also a chance to win Free Cosmik Fries for a year. This location opened three years after HopCat permanently closed the previous Royal Oak location in 2020.
Eater Detroit reported that the first Royal Oak location open since 2017 ultimately closed its doors due to a landlord dispute. The three-story bar was previously located in the former Woody’s and Onyx Modern Steakhouse & Whiskey Bar building, now Pastaio, at 208 5th Ave.
