From Easter to Arbor Day to Earth Day, April is full of reasons to celebrate. Thousands of cannabis users are gearing up for 4/20. The annual event takes place on April 20 in celebration of cannabis. There will not only be celebrations in places like Colorado and California, but there will also be plenty of gatherings in Michigan. Recently, the City of Detroit approved its first festival allowing the legal consumption of cannabis.

The annual celebration of cannabis culture is gaining popularity more each year. This could be due to the fact that so many states have passed laws to decriminalize, legalize, and regulate cannabis.

According to the National Conference of State Legislatures, 21 states have legalized the adult use of marijuana for recreational purposes. Some of those states include Arizona, California, Colorado, Illinois, Massachusetts, Michigan, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, Nevada, Virginia, and Washington.

As of January 2023, 37 states have legalized the medical use of cannabis, with each state having its own criteria. A few of the states that have legalized marijuana include Alabama, Arkansas, Delaware, Florida, Hawaii, Louisiana, Maine, North Dakota, Ohio, and Oklahoma.

If you’re a marijuana enthusiast, you certainly don’t want to miss out on the celebrations here in Michigan. From dispensary deals to festivals and gatherings. Some of the events take place throughout the year, too, such as Hash Bash in Ann Arbor, Peace Festival in Buchanan, and more.

Here are 420 events happening in Michigan.
