The Spartan Football Kickoff happens this Saturday (April 15). It's always a super fun time. For one, it marks the start of spring. The event is also free.

The Spartan Football Kickoff is the 15th and final spring football practice. The format will be a 15-period practice with individual and group drills during the first half and live scrimmage during the second half.

Date and time

The Spartan Football Kickoff is Saturday (April 15). The event officially starts at 2 p.m., but the stadium gates (gates B, C, D, J, K) will open at 12:30 p.m.

Parking

Parking is free on campus at lots 79, 63, 126 and ramp 7. Lot 62 has been reserved for accessible parking.

Promotions

According to Michigan State, "MSU Athletics will have several free promotions throughout Spartan Stadium as part of the Spartan Football Kickoff. Fans will have a chance to visit the playing field, take photos wearing a Spartan helmet, shoulder pads and jersey, and take pictures with MSU trophies. There will also be games on the concourse in addition to a face painting station."

They add, "Fans can also stop by the Sparty's Locker Room locations on the Spartan Stadium concourse (west side, gates C & K) to check out the selection of old game-used Michigan State Football jerseys on sale ($125)."

Give back

The event helps a good cause, too. According to Michigan State, "In support and partnership with Cristo Rey Community Center, personal and baby care donated items will be accepted at all MSU Athletics events from April 14-16, including the Spartan Football Kickoff on April 15. Cristo Rey is a partner organization of the Izzo Legacy 5K Run/Walk/Roll."
