The Detroit Lions came close, but once again, no cigar on Sunday (Oct. 30). The team took on the Miami Dolphins at Ford Field and lost 31-27.

Detroit's weak defense is all the talk. Now, that's resulted in one coaching assistant losing his job.

The Lions have parted ways with defensive backs coach and pass game coordinator Aubrey Pleasant, according to NFL Network Insider Ian Rapopor. Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press first reported the news. Lions coach Dan Campbell has confirmed the news, stating, "We're in a production-based business, and after seven weeks, I felt like this change needed to be made."
