Detroit Lions Lose Offensive Coach To Denver
The Detroit Lions have now seen their third coach find an opportunity elsewhere this off-season.
Offensive assistant coach John Morton was announced as a member of the coaching staff for the Denver Broncos, becoming apart of a new team of coaches hired under Bronco’s head coach Sean Payton.
Morton helped first-time offensive coordinator Ben Johnson build the Detroit Lions’ offense into one of the best units in the league.
Bronco’s head coach Sean Payton served as a mentor to now Lion’s head coach Dan Campbell, so it’s no real surprise he’s kept an eye on useful pieces to his own coaching staff.
John Morton was with the Lions for one season as the team’s senior offensive assistant.
