Stephen A. Smith: “Draymond Expects This Season To Be The Last With The Dubs”
It’s been a rocky start to the preseason for the defending NBA champions the Golden State Warriors.
Warriors forward Draymond Green, no stranger to controversy and voicing his opinions, sucker punched teammate Jordan Poole during a recent practice and the Warrior’s front office was quick to damage control the situation.
The incident leaves the organization in an interesting spot. Invest in the upside of youth and skill of Poole, or pay and retain Draymond Green who will undoubtedly want more money come next season.
ESPN commentator Stephen A. Smith seems to believe this will be Green’s last go-round with the championship Warriors.
“Golden State has got to re-sign two people. The three people looking to get re-signed is Jordan Poole, Andrew Wiggins, Draymond Green. I can tell you right now, Wiggins and Poole are a priority.
“I can tell you right now that Draymond Green is expecting this to be his last year in Golden State.”
Time will tell what path the Warrior’s office takes.
Green has proven both effective and problematic for the team. This recent incident could be the last leg holding up their successful but exhausting relationship.
