Trailer for Nicole Kidman’s Michigan-Filmed ‘Holland’ Released
Here in Michigan, we like to think that we have some pretty cool scenery that could make for some fantastic film backdrops, such as Holland. Plenty of films have been filmed in Michigan, and the latest is a thriller featuring the famed Nicole Kidman.
Kidman stars in the new Amazon MGM Studios film, “Holland.” The film, not surprisingly, was filmed in Michigan, where Holland is one of the state’s top tourist spots, drawing many to their annual Tulip Festival each year.
Nicole Kidman Stars as ‘Nancy Vandergroot’
Kidman, according to Amazon MGM Studios, stars as the “meticulous Nancy Vandergroot, a teacher and homemaker whose picture-perfect life with her community pillar husband (Matthew Macfadyen) and son (Jude Hill) in tulip-filled Holland, Michigan tumbles into a twisted tale. Nancy and her friendly colleague (Gael García Bernal) become suspicious of a secret, only to discover nothing in their lives is what it seems.”
The show’s IMDb listing notes that the film synopsis is, “A woman’s picture-perfect life in quaint Holland, Michigan crumbles, when she and a friend uncover a twisted secret in their midst.”
The movie was directed by Mimi Cave and written by Andrew Sodroski. Kidman is also a producer on the film, along with Kate Churchill, Peter Dealbert, and Per Saari. The show is rated R and runs 108 minutes.
You don’t have to wait long to experience “Holland,” as the film will be streaming globally on Prime Video beginning March 27. Before then, you can watch the film’s just-released trailer below. It’s so awesome to have a film with such a star-studded cast filmed right here in Michigan. It’s a scary one, though, so get ready to get freaked out.
“Everyday, I get to wake up in the best place on Earth,” Nancy comments as the trailer opens. However, she later adds, “Tt may seem like we have everything all together, but right under the surface, it’s like we’re being strangled.”
