‘Plowing for Pizza’ Program Ensures Hot Deliveries Despite Wintry Roads
Domino’s Pizza is committed to ensuring that nothing hinders the delivery of a piping hot and delicious pizza, not even the challenges posed by snowy, cold weather. Going the extra mile for pizza enthusiasts, Domino’s is dedicating half a million dollars in grants for snow plowing. This initiative guarantees that “carryout customers can have access to hot pizza, even on the coldest, snowiest days.” The company is currently accepting nominations for up to 20 cities to receive $25,000 each in snow plowing grants.
To participate, customers can visit Plowingforpizza.com and submit the zip code of their hometown for grant consideration. The nomination window is open until January 21, 2024, with a limitation of one submission per email address. Domino’s will announce selected towns on a rolling basis throughout the program to ensure timely grants during the winter season. The final list is expected to be revealed as early as mid-January.
Domino’s Plowing for Pizza
The chosen communities will receive funds for snow clearance and a winter-themed Domino’s Plowing for Pizza kit. This kit includes winter essentials such as hats and scarves. It also includes practical items like a snow measuring stick and sign, vehicle magnets, and other thematic accessories. Additionally, the selected municipalities will receive $200 in Domino’s gift cards, allowing plow drivers to indulge in hot pizza after a “strenuous day battling the cold.” The awarded towns will be prominently featured on the Plowing for Pizza website. The site will showcase images and footage from the plowing locations.
Highlighting their commitment, Domino’s has already collaborated with three municipalities. These include Erie, PA, Marquette, MI, and Manhattan, MT in their winter plowing efforts this season. This program draws inspiration from the success of their Paving for Pizza program. In that program, Domino’s partnered with towns in all 50 states to repair potholes. Domino’s recognized the positive impact and decided to launch a winter program, according to their news release.
Described as the sequel, Plowing for Pizza seeks to engage towns nationwide in need of snow removal or plowing assistance. The objective is to assist customers in venturing out and warming up with hot pizza, even in the face of snowy weather. Domino’s Pizza aims to extend its community partnership by aiding municipalities in overcoming the challenges posed by winter conditions.
