DTW Launches Free Reward Loyalty Program For Travelers
If you’re a frequent traveller, then this may pique your interest. Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport announced a free DTW Reward loyalty perks program. DTW Rewards include gift cards, airline miles, and cash back for nearly every dollar spent at the airport, according to their website.
The Benefits
Hotels and airlines aren’t the only travel-related organizations with loyalty programs. Many airports have them, too. An airport rewards program can offer some great benefits and encourage travelers to fly more from a specific airport. Most programs like this are free. But don’t expect a first-class trip to a sunny resort with miles or points. However, it does help give you a better travel experience.
The DTW Rewards is open to the traveling public, airport employees, and DTW Destination Pass holders. The Destination Pass program allows non-passengers to access their gates or utilize airport amenities such as dining and shopping.
According to a news release, members securely link their credit or debit card accounts to begin earning points as they shop and dine at DTW and more than 100 other participating airports.
“DTW Rewards will give our customers another reason to enjoy our nearly 100 shops and restaurants at the number one-ranked mega airport in North America,” said Wayne County Airport Authority CEO Chad Newton. “We pride ourselves on delivering an excellent customer experience at DTW. This program will provide us with data to help make our airport even better.”
DTW partnered with Thanks Again, LLC and its GlidePathCX platform to bring DTW Rewards. GlidePathCX will allow DTW to capture real-time insights, including customer feedback through survey responses.
How to register for DTW Rewards
Customers can enroll in the program at DTWRewards.com or by connecting to airport Wi-Fi. One on the website, you can register for free and get 100 bonus points just for signing up. Then, you link your credit or debit cards using their website’s “bank-level security.” After registration, you can begin to earn when you transact. Accumulate points whenever you make purchases at participating locations with your linked cards.
You need at least 500 points ($5) before you can redeem. The lowest cost redemption option is 500 points ($5). What can you redeem? You can redeem your Rewards for cash back, airline and hotel rewards, retail gift cards, rideshare credits, and other goodies.
According to NerdWallet, there are other U.S. airports with rewards programs. Some of these include Florida’s Gainesville Regional Airport, Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, Colorado Springs Airport, Indianapolis International Airport, and others. They also have loyalty programs available at international airports.
