Is Sheila Ford Hamp Considering Getting Rid of Dan Campbell?
Detroit Lions fans were really hoping that the team could pull off a successful season in 2022. So far, that hsan’t materialized in the form of wins. We’ve only won one game this season.
That said, many are speculating on whether head coach Dan Campbell will return next season. So, what does Detroit Lions principal owner Sheila Ford Hamp think about it?
Ford Hamp went on record this week and talked about Campbell and general manager Brad Holmes. She said fans had to be patient and that she felt confident about the people in charge of the team, despite the Lions’ 1-5 record. “We’ve got 11 more games to go, so I just don’t want to ruin it, push the panic button and give up the ship because I think we’ve got the right people in place to pull this off, and I truly believe that,” she said, via ESPN’s Eric Woodyard. “And I wouldn’t say that if I didn’t believe it.”
She also said that she believes Campbell and Holmes’ jobs were difficult. The two men were given the responsibility of managing a “huge teardown and then turnaround,” Ford Hamp said. Last season was Campbell’s first year. They finished 3-13-1, so right near the bottom of the NFL. Despite that, “I think we really are making progress. You’ve seen it,” Ford Hamp said.
