Warriors Allow Wiseman Trade To Detroit Despite Payton II’s Failed Physical
The four-team trade that sent James Wiseman from the Golden State Warriors to the Detroit Pistons suffered a hiccup after the Warriors failed the physical for returning guard Gary Payton II who Golden State acquired from the Portland Trailblazers.
Payton failed the physical due to his use of Torodol, a medication he was using to combat abdominal pain. He is expected to miss the next couple of months.
Despite the setback for Golden State, the Warriors front office has allowed the trade process for Wiseman to go through.
Wiseman is expected to suit up for the Pistons on Wednesday when Detroit visits the Boston Celtics.
