How the Wolverines Will Honor the Spartans at Saturday’s Basketball Game
On Saturday (Feb. 18), the Michigan Wolverines will host the Michigan State Spartans at Crisler Center in Ann Arbor for a rivalry game. This time around, the Wolverines have big plans to honor the Spartans and show their support following this week’s mass shooting.
Michigan Athletics announced that Saturday’s game will pay tribute to the Spartans and their students. U-M’s team ill wear special team warm-ups that will recognize MSU. For those at the event, the Wolverines will have 2,000 special shirts for the Maize Rage and student ticket holders.
Also, before the game starts, they’ll take a 30-second moment of silence. The Maize Rage student section will also hang a 12×8 “Spartan Strong” flag. Finally, the Wolverine Pep Band has learned the MSU alma mater and will play it at the game.
The game starts at 8 p.m. For those in the Detroit area, it will air on FOX 2.
