Pistons In ‘Tank Mode’? Is It Worth The Gamble?
Nothing says ‘tank mode’ for the current Pistons roster more than having Rodney McGruder in the starting lineup.
Ok, maybe that was a little rude, but the point still stands.
The Detroit Pistons seem to have gone into full ‘get sorry for Wemby” mode in hopes that their current standing, just one game ahead of the Houston Rockets for worst in the league, and half a game ahead of the 16 straight loss San Antonio Spurs, will land them the coveted projected number one pick in the 2024 draft.
Bojan Bogdanovic, Jaden Ivey, Jalen Duren and Isaiah Stewart all rode the bench as the Pistons dropped down 20 to the Charlotte Hornets – the second worst team in the Eastern Conference.
The Pistons would go on to lose the game, 117-106.
Despite their best (worst?) efforts, the Detroit Pistons have a 14% chance at landing the number one spot in the lottery. They actually have much better odds at landing in 5th place for a pick.
Eyes on the prize!
