MSU’s Tom Izzo Breaks a Record with NCAA Tournament Entry
The NCAA Tournament starts on Tuesday (March 14) with the First Four and then kicks off the official First Round on Thursday (March 16) and Friday (March 17).
As for Michigan teams, the Wolverines didn’t make the tournament this year. But, Michigan State took the No. 7 seed in the First Round. They’ll go up against the No. 10 seed USC Trojans in Columbus at 12:15 p.m. Friday. The top four seeds in Michigan State’s region are Purdue, Marquette, Kansas State and Tennessee.
MSU head coach Tom Izzo now has taken his Spartans to a 25th consecutive berth in the NCAA Tournament. That breaks the previous record he shared with recently retired Duke head coach Mike Krzyzewski. As a Spartan, it warms my heart to see this. Izzo and Krzyzewski are both tops.
