Chain Restaurant Closes Final Michigan Location
It’s always sad when a local restaurant closes. Even if that restaurant is a chain restaurant, I think it’s still sad, because it’s often become a fixture of the community.
Now, a major chain restaurant has closed its final Michigan location. It happened quickly and without warning, too.
Chain Restaurant Closing:
Champps Kitchen + Bar has permanently closed its Lansing location, according a sign on the front door. “We regret to inform you that this location has permanently closed,” the sign states. “With the difficult last couple of years and uncertain future due, we unfortunately had no other option. We are sad to lose this location and thank the countless staff and guests who have made our restaurant feel like home throughout the years.”
Champps Kitchen + Bar was located at 2800 Preyde Ave., near the Eastwood Towne Center off U.S. 127. What’s a tad confusing is that one version of Champps’ website has three remaining locations listed — Brookfield, Wisconsin; Eden Prairie, Minnesota; and Indianapolis — while another version of the site has just one – Victor, New York. Regardless of the other Champps locations, the Lansing spot was the final Michigan location, so now the chain restaurant ahs completely left the Mitten. It’s sad, because I’ve gone to Champps for years. I like that they played music videos on their big screen TVs, along with the typical sports games that you would see at a sports bar. Here’s hoping Champps is able to rebuild again.
